When the United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) needed to energize their participant base and create initial awareness for their cause, the organization called upon Event 360. With goals in mind of creating advocates for the event within the UCP community and expanding awareness in the general population regarding UCP and its mission, Event 360 and UCP worked together to create a successful event.
Our team conceptualized and launched a two-day cycling event – the Ride Without Limits, an event that focused on helping not just people with cerebral palsy, but those with all types of mobility issues. The two-day format with an overnight camping trip was designed to create a close-knit community, wherein riders could bond with UCP staff and become more engaged advocates for the disabled. We ensured all details, from course selection to hot campsite meals, would contribute to the atmosphere of personal achievement, learning and fun.
From a production standpoint, the 2007 Ride Without Limits series was a success. Post-event participant surveys indicated that 70% of riders were interested in participating again and on average 86% of participants said that the event met or exceeded their expectations. The Tampa Ride Without Limits event was highlighted in Bicycling Magazine in March 2008. Editor Steven Madden wrote. "The Ride Without Limits in Tampa was the best run, most rider-friendly charity event I've ever participated in."
"Event 360’s professionalism, keen organizational skills, and ability to provide a safe, fun environment for our riders was a major component of why our Ride Without Limits events were so successful in their inaugural year." - Stephen Bennett, President and CEO, United Cerebral Palsy
