Background

Founded in Chicago in 1971, Walk & Roll is a fundraising event to benefit the American Cancer Society that takes place in seven locations throughout Illinois. Participants can select from a 5-mile walk, 10-mile skate or 15-mile bike ride.

Solution

Event 360 conducted an objective assessment of Walk & Roll’s fundraising strategy to identify untapped opportunities in participant fundraising and communications. Our conclusions were drawn from a blend of both qualitative and quantitative research and analysis, including:

  • Reviewed materials including recruitment brochures, media releases, fundraising tools, volunteer management, participant presentations, sponsorship management
  • Completed 19 interviews
  • Deployed a participant survey to 4,926 past participants and 300 volunteers
  • Performed online organization, event, and market research
