The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) needed more robust and flexible tools to execute Take Steps for Crohn's and Colitis, a major fundraiser for the organization. They recognized that their existing tool made it difficult to maintain a cohesive experience for the user. Additionally, CCFA lost their National Walk Manager right before the busiest part of event season. The National Walk Director did not have the time to do a full hiring process and appropriate training to fill this position in time to be effective for a successful event year.
Event 360’s technology experts helped CCFA customize Convio’s TeamRaiser platform for its needs, allowing the organization to communicate with and mobilize participants, and letting participants easily create individual donation pages complete with reporting and donor management tools. CCFA also hired an Event 360 Walk Manager Consultant to fill this role through the event season. This allowed for someone already familiar with the basics of event execution and project management to lend her talents to the CCFA Take Steps Program and assist with managing the chapters across the country. The Walk Manager Consultant helped guide the chapters through their recruitment efforts, communications plans, logistical questions and overall project management. During the decision-making process regarding changing CRM providers, Event 360's Walk Consultant's experience with these CRMs allowed the National Walk Director to understand the capabilities of Convio from the viewpoint of someone who has used the system in a similar manner.
Within 11 weeks, our IT team built a custom TeamRaiser solution and reporting templates and launched a full infrastructure to support thousands of walkers participating in 79 events. CCFA now has a brand new website that is more user-friendly and implements the fresh and creative branding for the Take Steps Walk Program. The hiring of the Event 360 Walk Consultant played a complementary role in the migration to Convio as well. The Walk Consultant was able to assist CCFA National with this transition, hiring new walk managers, choosing and implementing a new creative design and planning and presenting at the National Walk Managers Training for the next year. By hiring the Event 360 Walk Consultant, the CCFA National Walk Director was able to focus on strategically planning for the next year's program and entrust the hiring, training and management for the current year's program to our capable consultant.
